The Policy Open Comment Period is a mechanism that provides the Georgia Tech campus community an opportunity to have a voice in the policy process on newly proposed Institute policies and when substantial changes are made to existing Institute policies. You may submit comments via this Open Comment form. If you would like to sign-up for email announcements when policies open for Campus Comment click here.

The following policies will be available for campus comment from October 1st through October 15th, 2026:

Updated - Performance, Conduct, and Corrective Action Policy (formerly titled Progressive Discipline Policy): This existing policy is being revised to establish a clear, consistent framework for addressing employee performance concerns and behavioral misconduct. The policy shifts from a primarily process-focused progressive discipline model to a broader performance enablement and corrective action framework that emphasizes coaching, documented feedback, accountability, and opportunities for improvement.

Updated - Standards of Conduct and Workplace Expectations Policy (formerly titled General Work Rules Policy): This existing policy is being revised to replace the legacy major and minor workplace rule structure with a modern standard of conduct framework. The policy shifts from categorizing workplace behavior as major or minor rule violations to establishing clear professional, ethical, safety, attendance, and workplace conduct expectations for staff employees. The revised policy reorganizes conduct expectations into broader categories, including professional integrity and accountability, safety and security, workplace conduct, attendance and work expectations, and criminal reporting obligations.
